For fully laminated shims, write total thickness / thickness of laminations (layers), examples:

• 5 mm/0,025 mm

For bilaminate shims (or bi-laminated shims), write total thickness = total thickness of one side / thickness of laminations (layers) + total thickness of the other side / thickness of laminations (layers), Examples:

• .07" = .03"/.003" + .04"/.001"
• 1.75 mm = 0.75 mm/0.075 mm + 1 mm/0.025 mm

For partially laminated shims (with a solid part), write total thickness = total thickness of one side / thickness of laminations (layers) + total thickness of the solid part, Examples:

• .07" = .03"/.003" + .04"
• 1.75 mm = 0.75 mm/0.075 mm + 1 mm
